Project background: Tradition and innovation meet

tradition/
Bushu authentic indigo dyeing has been passed down in northern Saitama since the Edo period and is closely associated with Eiichi Shibusawa.
Ishizuka Shingo is the fourth generation owner of Ishiori Shoten, which was founded in 1910 and continues the tradition of Bushu authentic indigo dyeing.
Designated traditional handicraft factory, Sainokuni Excellent Brand Product, and registered regional collective trademark.

innovation/
Originally from ESMOD PARIS in France, Hideaki Kitasako is a costume designer for the Shiki Theatre Company and others, and is the creator of the cutting-edge brand KARMA et CARINA, which continues to take on new challenges, with its clothes worn by many actresses in TV dramas and at the Kobe Collection fashion show.

This collaboration was born from the meeting of these two elements of "tradition" and "innovation."

The traditional spirit of Shingo Ishizuka and the creativity of Hideaki Kitasako have come together to form a new challenge for Bushu Shoin Aizome.

Philosophy for the future

Japan's traditional crafts are the crystallization of the wisdom of our ancestors.

For example, Bushu True Indigo Dye not only has antibacterial and insect repellent properties, but by repeatedly dyeing the fabric, the indigo
penetrates deep into the fibers and gives the fabric exceptional durability, standing up to years of use.

In addition, Bushu Shoai dyeing, which is produced using natural materials, contributes to the 14th SDG "Protect and sustainably use the oceans and seas," by preventing microplastics from entering the ocean.

In order to promote the idea of using things carefully, which was common in Japan not long ago, we offer "free re-dyeing for many years." This product also contributes to the 12th SDG, "Responsible Consumption and Production."

By wearing this dress, you will be incorporating traditional Japanese culture and contributing to a sustainable future.
